== How to reproduce bug ==
(1) Open official "Theo Jansen".
(2) Try to connect two legs with spring when simulation is ON.

Yes you're right this is a bug.

The spring tool checks for the existence of the first body upon the "mousePressEvent" and for the existence of the second body upon the "mouseReleaseEvenet". So it is possible that during the time that the mouse dragging takes place, the first body has been displaced from its original position.
