hi i'm new here. i've been working on a project and i need to find a way to connect springs end to end and make the connection strong enough to withstand a lot of repeated bending. i'm using tension springs and i'm cutting the loops off the ends so i can butt them up flush together. my goal is to end up with one long spring using a real heavy duty spring on one end and progressively weaker springs as you move to the other end. that way as the more flexible side bends under pressure, the resistance becomes greater towards the stronger end. one idea i have is to use sections of pipe that fit inside or around each spring and cut and bend tabs up on the ends. then screw the tabs into the springs drawing the pipe down into it and holding it in place. then weld the pipes together between the springs. that's all i have so far. i'd really appreciate any help and ideas anyone has. thanks a lot! dave
